To make a day of it

Burgwall Feldberg stands in Feldberger Seenlandschaft (Landkreis Mecklenburgische Seenplatte), in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

The Burgwall Feldberg is a former Slavic hillfort perched above the Breiter Luzin lake, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Built by the Wilzi tribe between the 7th and 9th centuries, it consisted of an outer bailey and a main stronghold set on a plateau roughly 36 metres above the lake, which made the site nearly unassailable from the water side. An earthen rampart with two gate openings still marks the outer bailey today. For decades the site was thought to be the legendary Slavic sanctuary of Rethra, a theory later disproved by further excavations.
