To make a day of it

Schloss Windeck stands in Windeck (Rhein-Sieg-Kreis), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Schloss Windeck was a villa built in 1859 on the heights of the Burgruine Windeck, in the town of Windeck, in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia. The Prussian Landrat Oscar Danzier, who had acquired the medieval ruins in 1852, had this building erected in a neo-medieval style on the old castle's foundations and vaults. The Caminneci family, who took ownership through marriage, doubled its size around 1900, giving it four towers decorated with tuff stone in a Gothic manner. Set ablaze during the fighting at Easter 1945, the building was fully demolished in the following decades, as preservation efforts focused instead on the older medieval ruin.
