To make a day of it

Schloss Wendgräben stands in Möckern (Landkreis Jerichower Land), in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Schloss Wendgräben stands among the woods of the western Fläming, set apart from the hamlet that gave it its name. Built in the early twentieth century for a landowner from an old noble family, it reflects the English country house style that Berlin architect Hermann Muthesius helped introduce to Germany. Its walls are faced with grey violet granite boulders, its gables come to sharp points, and a tall round tower copies the keep of nearby Loburg castle. Over the following century the building served many purposes, from a maternity rest home to a boarding school, before becoming a conference centre and later a private clinic.
