To make a day of it

Schloss Tutzing stands in Tutzing (Landkreis Starnberg), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Schloss Tutzing stands on the shore of Lake Starnberg, surrounded by a landscaped park dating from the 19th century. Its present horseshoe-shaped, classical appearance is the result of renovations carried out between 1802 and 1816 on a medieval manorial seat. Since 1949 the building has housed the Evangelical Academy of Tutzing, which holds conferences and seminars there. Rooms and grounds still display artworks and features left by past owners, including the Hungarian collector Marcell Nemes.

  • The 19th century landscaped park surrounding the building can be walked along the shore of Lake Starnberg.
  • No visiting hours or admission fees are set, as the site is not organised as a self-guided monument.
