Hochschloss Pähl stands in Pähl (Landkreis Weilheim-Schongau), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Hochschloss Pähl rises some hundred metres above the Ammer valley near the Ammersee lake in Bavaria. The present building, a villa in a romanticised medieval style, was erected between 1883 and 1885 to designs by architect Albert Schmidt, on the site of much older fortifications. The history of the place reaches back to a stronghold possibly of Roman origin, later held by the Counts of Andechs and then by the House of Wittelsbach. The castle is now privately owned and cannot be visited.
