Schloss Tressow stands on a rise above the Tressow lake in the municipality of Bobitz, some twelve kilometres southwest of Wismar. Built between 1862 and 1865 for Count Werner von der Schulenburg to designs by the architect Georg Daniel, a late pupil of Schinkel, it has an eleven-bay facade in a late neoclassical style with Florentine touches. The grounds still include the original English-style landscape park and a nursery garden, laid out around a sightline running from the house to the lake. The upper floor now holds holiday apartments, and some of the grand first-floor rooms can be hired for events such as weddings.
