To make a day of it

Schloss Taxis stands in Dischingen (Landkreis Heidenheim), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Dischingen is home to a former stronghold known in medieval times as Trugenhofen, later renamed Schloss Taxis. In 1734 the estate passed into the hands of the Thurn und Taxis dynasty, whose princely rank shaped its transformation over the following centuries into a summer residence blending Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Neo-Gothic styles, crowned by the towered Neues Schloss. Visitors cannot enter the main building itself, though the surrounding English-style park, with its avenues of lime and chestnut trees, remains accessible to the public.
