Schloss Roggenhagen stands in Brunn (Landkreis Mecklenburgische Seenplatte), in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.
Schloss Roggenhagen was a former manor house in Brunn, in the Landkreis Mecklenburgische Seenplatte, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Built in 1728 for the von Gloeden family and later refitted in Rococo style after a fire, it passed to the von Dewitz family in 1795, who held it into the twentieth century. The house was destroyed by an explosion when the Red Army advanced through the region in the winter and spring of 1945, and the ruins were cleared away in 1946. As a result, nothing of the manor remains to be visited on site today, apart from the old village church, which survived.
What to know
- The manor house itself is gone: it was destroyed in 1945 and its ruins were cleared away by 1946, so no building remains on the site today.
- Only the old village church survived the destruction, although its interior furnishings were lost during the Second World War.
- There is no organized visit, no opening hours and no admission to speak of, since the monument no longer exists.
- The location can still be identified in Brunn, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, for those who simply wish to see the historic site of the former estate.
