The Jagdschloss Prillwitz stands on the shore of the Lieps lake in Hohenzieritz, on an estate that belonged from the early 15th century to the von Peccatel family before passing through several noble owners. The present building, erected in the late 19th century in the Neo-Renaissance style for the future Grand Duke Adolf Friedrich V of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, stands next to an older manor house dating from 1706. Restored after decades of varied uses, it still displays an entrance hall, staircase and hall with their original wood panelling.
