Schloß Pesch stands in Meerbusch, between the districts of Strümp and Ossum-Bösinghoven, within a park that still holds traces of Roman-era settlement. Around the two-storey main house, with its thirteen bays of windows, stand a former Rentei topped by a clock tower, a chapel, and a brick farm courtyard dating from 1795. First recorded in 1311 as the Peschhof, the estate was sacked in 1583 during the Cologne War, became a battleground in 1689 during the Nine Years' War, and burned again in 1795, passing through the hands of several Rhenish noble families along the way.
