Burg Linn stands in Krefeld (Krefeld), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Linn stands in the Linn district east of central Krefeld, ringed by a moat that still traces its outline. Most of its hexagonal enclosure dates from the 13th century, built on the foundations of an earlier residential and defensive tower raised by the lords of Linn in the century before. Gutted by fire in the early 18th century during the War of the Spanish Succession, it kept its keep, long used as a prison and known locally as the Butterturm. Visitors can still trace six separate building phases, the last two of which never achieved the symmetry originally planned.
