This modest baroque mansion, built before 1751 for the Zittau merchant Gottfried Hering, later spent nearly a century as a brewery before falling into decay under East German rule. The narrow two-storey building, topped with a mansard roof and marked by a projecting central bay, now shows the imprint of its later uses rather than its original interior, which was lost when it became a brewery. Since 2005 a local association has worked to preserve the building and its overgrown park.
