To make a day of it

Schloss Lauterecken stands in Lauterecken (Landkreis Kusel), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Schloss Lauterecken stands in the small Palatinate town of the same name, on the site of a former residence of the counts of Palatinate-Veldenz. Of the original building only the Veldenz tower, the medieval enclosure walls and the late Gothic vaulted cellar remain, the rest having been rebuilt in the 18th century after the dynasty died out. The building today houses municipal functions along with a small display on the counts of Veldenz. The nearby facade of the 'Neuer Bau', reworked with Renaissance-style elements, completes the ensemble.
