Schloss Hohenfels has stood since 1840 on a wooded hill above Coburg, in Bavaria. Its history includes an opera singer who became a baroness, an industrialist from Łódź, a well-known stud farm and, more darkly, a use under the Third Reich. Today the building houses a school specialising in gymnastics and therapy, and is not open to the public as a heritage site.
