Schloss Weitersroda stands in Hildburghausen, in the Landkreis Hildburghausen, in Thuringia, at the heart of the small settlement of Weitersroda. Built from 1478 onward by the Franconian imperial knight Eucharius von Hessberg, the building combines the look of a fortified medieval residence with Renaissance features added over the following centuries. Notable elements include a spiral stone staircase tower, a diamond-cut stone portal from the 17th century, and roof timbers whose age has been established through dendrochronology. The site was also part of a large ducal building scheme from the late 17th century known as Henriettenthal, of which some traces remain in the village.
