Schloss Großropperhausen is a manor house built in 1832 at the centre of an extensive, still-farmed estate near Großropperhausen, in the Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, Hesse. The classicist building replaced an earlier fortified baroque manor from the early eighteenth century, which itself had succeeded a medieval Burg first recorded in the thirteenth century. Known as the largest baroque estate in Hesse, the complex combines the main house with U-shaped farm buildings and a four-hectare park. Restored between 2010 and 2017, the house remains a private residence and partly hosts other activities on site.
