Schloss Finkenau stands in Finkenau, a hamlet belonging to the municipality of Ahorn in Bavaria, on the western bank of the river Itz. The present building, a two storey manor house under a shallow hipped roof, was erected in 1828, though its cellars go back to the 15th century, remnants of the fortified Rittergut that once stood on the same ground. Nearby survive a sheepfold with a shepherd's dwelling and a sandstone basin once used to wash sheep before shearing. The old mill, the Finkenmühle, still stands across the river.
