Schloss Fellenberg, in Merzig, now houses a museum focused on regional history. Originally built as a tanning mill, the building was converted after 1858 by the Swiss industrialist Wilhelm Tell von Fellenberg into a stately residence. The complex combines a larger, plainly rendered yellow-plastered wing with a smaller section of red sandstone featuring a bay window, a tower and a gargoyle. Next to the Schloss, the Paul-Schneider-Garten der Künste displays sculptures and is open to the public free of charge.
