To make a day of it
Schloss Eichholz stands in Wesseling (Rhein-Erft-Kreis), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Eichholz stands at Wesseling in North Rhine-Westphalia, on an estate whose history traces back to a farm first recorded in 1320 and worked by nuns from Dietkirchen convent. Destroyed by fire in 1822, it was rebuilt by Baron J. G. von Carnap, who added the manor house still standing today, before the estate was turned into a grand country residence under Carl Joest in the late 19th century. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation ran an education academy there from 1956 to 2014, and since 2016 the building has housed a trauma clinic along with a child and adolescent psychiatric unit. It is therefore not a tourist site but a medical facility occupying a historic building.
