To make a day of it
Schloss Dörnberg stands in Neustadt (Landkreis Marburg-Biedenkopf), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.
Schloss Dörnberg rises above the southern edge of Neustadt's old town in Hesse, built on the stone foundations of a vanished medieval stronghold. Constructed at the end of the 15th century for the knight Hans von Dörnberg, it incorporates the so called Junker-Hansen-Turm, a defensive tower raised slightly earlier as part of the town's fortifications. The late Gothic building passed through several changes of authority, from the Electorate of Mainz to Hesse, later serving as an administrative seat and then as the town hall. Its massive form and tower remain the visual landmark of the old centre today.
