Schloss Bauschlott stands in Neulingen on the foundations of a moated residence built in the 16th century by the lords of Wallstein. Purchased in 1726 by the margraves of Baden, the medieval building was entirely rebuilt around 1800 in neoclassical style under court architect Friedrich Weinbrenner. Used as a hunting seat and later as a widow's residence for the grand ducal house of Baden, the property went through many different uses afterward, including decades as home to an artists' guild.
