Schloss Badinghagen is a moated manor house standing close to the Bergisches Land, south of Meinerzhagen, its moat fed by the river Agger. First recorded as a fief in 1160 in the register of Werden Abbey, it belonged to the Badinghagen family from 1363 before passing through marriage and sale to the von Karthausen, von Neuhoff and von Nagel families. The present building, much altered since the seventeenth century and heavily modernised in 1902, combines a solid stone ground floor with a half timbered upper storey clad in shingles. Now owned privately by the Dresler family, it can only be seen from the outside.
