To make a day of it
Schloss Amerang stands in Amerang (Landkreis Rosenheim), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Schloss Amerang stands on a rocky outcrop south of the village of Amerang in Bavaria. Its origins go back to an eleventh century stronghold, which the Scaliger family of Verona transformed in the sixteenth century into a residence shaped by Italian Renaissance ideas. The inner courtyard, lined with three tiers of arcaded galleries, ranks among the oldest early Renaissance structures surviving in Bavaria. Unusually, the building's near circular ground plan means that none of its forty rooms has a right angle.
