Schloss Alt Madlitz stands in Briesen (Mark), in the Landkreis Oder-Spree, in Brandenburg. What began as a simple fieldstone house built by the von Wulffen family in the 16th century grew, in the 18th century, into a three-storey country schloss under the counts Finck von Finckenstein. Inside, stucco work and a historic staircase have survived, and the building is set within the first English-style landscape park created in Brandenburg. Seized in 1945 and later used as a kindergarten under East Germany, the estate returned to the Finck von Finckenstein family after reunification, who restored it.
