Ruine Schrotzburg stands in Schienen (Landkreis Konstanz), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Recorded dating: 11th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Ruine Schrotzburg stands on a rocky spur at 693 metres above sea level, on the northern side of the Schiener Berg near the hamlet of Schienen. Also called Diepoldsburg, it replaced an earlier stronghold already recorded in 914, where Bishop Salomon of Konstanz was once held captive. Destroyed in 1441 by the Swabian League of Towns, it now survives only as scattered wall remains, including the base of a keep measuring 7.5 by 7.5 metres.
