Burg Rosenegg (Hegau) stands in Rielasingen-Worblingen (Landkreis Konstanz), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Recorded dating: 12th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Burg Rosenegg has stood on a hilltop in the Hegau region since the 12th century, in Rielasingen-Worblingen, in the Landkreis Konstanz. The site underwent a long agricultural and hospitality history: a former episcopal estate was built here, later run as an inn by the Gohl family from 1811 onward. Today the location houses a panoramic restaurant with a beer garden, oriented toward the Hegau views rather than the medieval remains themselves.
What to know
- The site today functions mainly as a panoramic restaurant with a beer garden rather than an organized visit to the castle remains.
- The Gohl family ran the inn from 1866, with an interruption during the war of 1870-71, until the property was sold in 2000.
- Since 1958 the location has been tied to the local Fasnacht carnival tradition, centered on the figure of the former lord of the castle, Junker Hans.
- The current buildings reflect successive alterations, notably in 1902, 1922, 1942 and during the 1960s.
