To make a day of it

Ruine Lägelen stands in Beuron (Landkreis Sigmaringen), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

The Ruine Lägelen, also known as Wagenburg, stands on a rocky spur above Hausen im Tal, a village within the municipality of Beuron in the Danube valley. Built around 1100 by the knights of Lägelen, it now survives only as scant wall remains, located near the campsite that still bears the name Wagenburg. Visitors can still make out part of a shield wall over three metres thick and some bossed stone blocks thought to belong to a keep. Local legend tells of a cruel maiden who, with her black poodle, guards a hidden treasure in the caves beneath the rock.
