The Ruin Hohenbodman stands on a hilltop above the Linzer Aach, north of Überlingen, within the municipality of Owingen. Of the former hilltop castle only the 37 metre high keep has survived, having escaped the fire that destroyed the rest of the stronghold in 1642 during the Thirty Years' War. Now used as a lookout tower, it offers views across the Salem valley, Lake Constance and, on clear days, the Alps.
