To make a day of it
Rödelheimer Schloss stands in Frankfurt am Main (Frankfurt am Main), in Hesse, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.
The Rödelheimer Schloss was the former residence of the counts of Solms-Rödelheim, built on the site of a medieval moated stronghold on an island of the Nidda river in Frankfurt-Rödelheim. Almost nothing of the complex survives: it was badly damaged in the 1944 air raids and the remaining walls were cleared away in 1955. Today the grounds form a park where a local history association uncovered the old foundations in 2008 and placed a bronze model of the former castle, so a visit is about tracing a vanished history rather than seeing a standing building.
