To make a day of it

Ringwall Abtenberg stands in Rattelsdorf (Landkreis Bamberg), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

The Ringwall Abtenberg is an old circular earthwork set on a spur of the Abtenberg, between the Itz and Main river valleys. Its outline, now largely worn down, follows the shape of the spur and forms an enclosure of roughly rectangular, rounded plan. Visitors come for the wooded hilltop setting and the faint remains of an earth and stone rampart rather than for any standing structure. The site lies near an old route that once linked Bamberg with Thuringia.
