The Prinzenpalais stands in the centre of Usingen, in Hesse, along the old road leading to the town's upper gate. This modest urban residence was built in 1768 for Friedrich August von Nassau-Usingen, who lived there before becoming reigning prince and moving to Schloss Biebrich. Its eastern facade, with five bays, still shows a balcony decorated with carved sandstone and a triangular gable bearing the gilded, intertwined initials of its original owner. The building later served for nearly two centuries as an administrative seat before becoming the subject of a renovation project.
