The Nammer Lager is an Iron Age hilltop enclosure above the village of Nammen, within the municipality of Porta Westfalica. Covering some 25 hectares at the western end of the Wesergebirge range, it is bordered by cliffs to the south and by a double rampart with ditch to the north and east. Occupied from the 3rd to the 1st century BC during the La Tène period, the site marks a point of contact between Celtic and Germanic populations near the strategic Porta Westfalica trade crossing. Visitors today can trace the earthwork ramparts, the single entrance at the northwestern corner, and three shallow depressions once used as water sources.
