To make a day of it
Luisium stands in Dessau-Roßlau (Dessau-Roßlau), in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
In the Waldersee district of Dessau-Roßlau stands Luisium, a modest neoclassical palace surrounded by an English-style landscape garden. Prince Leopold III Frederick Franz of Anhalt-Dessau had it built between 1774 and 1778 for his wife, Princess Louise of Brandenburg-Schwedt, and the palace now belongs to the Garden Realm of Dessau-Wörlitz, recognized by UNESCO among world heritage sites. Original interiors survive, among them a mirror cabinet, a library and several decorated cabinets, while outside the grounds feature garden follies, a white bridge inspired by Palladian design and a former stud farm.
