To make a day of it

Lauvenburg stands in Zülpich (Kreis Euskirchen), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

The Lauvenburg stands at the southern edge of Nemmenich, a district of the town of Zülpich. This former moated manor still shows its classic two-part layout, with an outer courtyard separated from the main residence by an angled moat. The moats are fed by a channel from the Rotbach stream and surround an almost square island, most of which is taken up by an orchard. The late-Gothic brick residence and the outer courtyard, rebuilt after a fire in 1868, together form a well-preserved complex.
