The Gut Waterneverstorf stands in Behrensdorf, on the shore of the Großer Binnensee in eastern Schleswig-Holstein. At its heart is a neoclassical manor house that grew out of a medieval moated castle built around 1390 for the von Rantzau family. The coats of arms of the Blome and Rantzau families still appear on the courtyard gable, families who shaped the estate's history before it passed to the counts von Waldersee at the end of the 19th century. The estate still operates as a working farm, and part of its buildings now serve as holiday apartments.
