To make a day of it
Frankenburg (Pfalz) stands in Weyher in der Pfalz (Landkreis Südliche Weinstraße), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Frankenburg is a medieval ruin set on a rocky spur of the Frankenberg, at 545 metres above sea level, in the Palatinate region. Only a few wall fragments and cuttings in the rock remain of this stronghold, yet the site retains a raw, untouched character, with its two defensive ditches and a staircase hewn into the stone. Across the Modenbach valley stands Meistersel Castle, its historic counterpart.
