Burg Vlatten stands in Heimbach (Kreis Düren), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Burg Vlatten stands in the Vlatten district of Heimbach, on a site that once held a Carolingian royal palace visited by Louis the Pious and later Lothair I. What remains today comes from the former Oberburg, a moated stronghold built in the 14th century by the von Vlatten family, of which sections of the enclosure walls, a two-storey round tower and a barrel-vaulted basement survive. Converted into a representative manor estate in the 19th century and later reshaped by the von Gagern family, who still own it, the building combines medieval remnants with historicist additions, including a square tower added in 1908.
