To make a day of it

Burg Straßberg (Vogtland) stands in Plauen (Vogtlandkreis), in Saxony, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

Burg Straßberg no longer exists as a building: it was a medieval hilltop castle on a spur above the Weiße Elster river, in the Straßberg district of Plauen. The village's Protestant church now stands on the former inner castle grounds, with a cemetery occupying the outer bailey. Likely founded before 1194, the castle belonged to the Vögte von Straßberg and seems to have stood for only about a century before being recorded as ruined in 1280. Medieval pottery has been found on the site during excavations.
