Burg Planschwitz once crowned a rocky outcrop in the centre of the village of Planschwitz, now part of the town of Oelsnitz/Vogtl. First recorded in 1297 under the lords of Planschwitz, it belonged, like the nearby Burg Stein, to the territorial strongholds of the Plauen dominion. Nothing of the former castle remains above ground; only the rock itself, cut into several terraces, still marks the site. Finds recovered there date to the 14th century.
