Burg Spitzenberg is a medieval ruin standing on a ridge above the Filstal valley, at the summit of the 665 metre high Spitzenberg, west of Kuchen. Only a few wall remnants of this former stronghold survive today; it gave its name to the noble Spitzenberger family, related to the Zähringen and Helfenstein counts. Traces of a 1913 excavation carried out by the Schwäbischer Albverein can still be seen on site, though the most significant finds from that dig have since been lost.
