Burg Schnellerts is a ruined hilltop castle set in woodland above the hamlet of Stierbach, near Affhöllerbach, within the municipality of Brensbach in the Odenwaldkreis. No historical document records its construction: what is known comes from twentieth-century archaeological excavations, which place its building in the first half of the thirteenth century and its violent destruction roughly a century later. Visitors can see the remains of an irregular hexagonal curtain wall and the circular stump of a tower, thought to have served as a watch tower rather than a residence.
