Schloss Bad König is a historic ensemble made up of the Old and New Schloss, an evangelical church built on the grounds of a former fortified churchyard, a rentmeisterei and a pleasure garden, at the centre of the town of Bad König. The Old Schloss, dating in its core from the 15th or 16th century, now houses the town administration, while the New Schloss, built in the late 18th century, retains a baroque wooden staircase and a neoclassical stucco ceiling. Set into the church tower is a Roman gravestone, a copy of the original kept in the gateway of the rentmeisterei. The complex is also known as the site where the future Dutch Queen Wilhelmina got engaged in 1900.
