The surviving building, a two-storey rubble-stone structure, dates back to the 16th century and belongs to the local type of rural fortified houses. Little documentary evidence survives about its history, though it is known to have belonged to the Dukes of Arenberg, who granted it as a fief to local tenants. It differs from comparable manor farms nearby mainly in its size and the extent of land attached to it.
