To make a day of it

Burg Freilingen stands in Blankenheim (Kreis Euskirchen), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

The Burg Freilingen no longer stands: it was a medieval fortified residence in the hamlet of Freilingen, now part of the municipality of Blankenheim in the Kreis Euskirchen. First recorded in the 14th century as the seat of a local noble family, it passed through several owners by marriage before being auctioned off in 1826 and subsequently torn down. Stones from its walls, window frames and an interior staircase were reused in two houses built around 1830 on Blankenheimer Strasse, which are today the only physical trace of the vanished building.
