The Burg Rauschenberg survives as a ruin on a hilltop above the town of Rauschenberg, in the Landkreis Marburg-Biedenkopf in Hesse. Likely built in the 11th or 12th century on behalf of the Abbey of Fulda, it began as a comital stronghold before being expanded into a hunting residence, a Schloss, at the end of the 16th century. Looted and then blown up in the 17th century, it now shows only wall fragments, the collapsed base of a keep and a vaulted cellar.
