Burg Orsbach stands on a plateau west of Aachen, in the Laurensberg district. Built around 1492 on land possibly occupied since Carolingian times, it served as a watchtower along the old trade route linking Aachen to Maastricht, part of the Landgraben defensive line. Over the centuries it was repurposed, including as an inn with a dance hall, and once faced demolition before being restored from 1968 onward by an architect who bought the property. The building now serves as a private residence.
