To make a day of it
Burg Münzenberg stands in Münzenberg (Wetteraukreis), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Perched on a volcanic hill overlooking the Wetterau plain, Münzenberg Castle raises its two pale stone keeps, visible from afar from the nearby motorways. This High Medieval ruin, among the best preserved of its kind in Germany, still shows the full layout of its curtain wall, its Romanesque hall and the chapel set above the gatehouse. Having two separate keeps, one to the east and a second added later to the west, makes it an unusual arrangement among castles of its time.
