Burg Markt overlooks the village of Markt, part of the municipality of Biberbach, on the edge of the Lech valley. Built on a rocky spur as early as the 14th century, it first belonged to the Rechberg family, then to the Pappenheim family, before Jakob Fugger acquired it in 1508 and had it rebuilt in 1525. The keep, the fortified enclosure and the Onoldsbach tower survive from that period, alongside an 18th-century chapel dedicated to St John the Baptist and later farm buildings. The western wing of the complex now houses a riding stable.
