The Burg Kreidenstein is the ruin of a medieval hilltop castle set on a rocky spur above the Bära valley, near Beuron. Freely accessible, the site preserves only scant remains: some wall fragments of the outer bailey and traces of a small keep within the inner castle area. The main appeal lies in the setting itself, a narrow rocky promontory separated from a neighbouring ruin, the Pfannenstiel, by a deep dry ravine.
