To make a day of it
Burg Hohenstein (Schwäbische Alb) stands in Hohenstein (Landkreis Reutlingen), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Perched on a ridge of the Swabian Alb above Oberstetten, Burg Hohenstein survives only as a ruin, yet it still speaks of the lordly power once based here. Built by the lords of Hohenstein at the end of the 11th century, the castle served as the seat from which they governed, taxed and judged a wide area. What remains is mainly the south-eastern corner of the keep in the inner ward, part of a tower that once rose some thirteen metres with walls over two metres thick. The grounds now host open-air readings and musical or theatrical performances.
